eMoney Order

eMoney Order
Implemented By :  University of Colombo , School of Computing

Benefits:

The eMoneyOrder system aims to make the current Money Orders an electronic instrument that could be used for making online payments. The money orders are currently issued by the post offices for making payments for various government services. Making eMoneyOrders an electronic payment instrument will help rural users purchase online services without the need of a credit card. This system will make the money order system available through 75 regional post offices distributed within the island. Initially the system will be implemented linking the University of Colombo allowing students to register for courses or make payments for exams online. This will be extended to other government and private institutions that accept online payments for their services as an alternative to credit cards. This is the first step towards a Government to Citizen (G2C) electronic payment gateway.
