eService – Online Revenue License Issuance

Revenue license online issuance eService is the first transactional eService launched leveraging the Lanka Gate infrastructure. This eService was launched in 30th December, 2009.

This eService enables citizens who are having their vehicles registered in Western Province to apply for the Revenue License online.

According to government regulations, at the time of revenue license issuance, a vehicle needs to have a valid Insurance and a valid emission certificate (if applicable). When applying for the revenue license online, the eService allows citizens to selects the respective insurance company and the emission company. Therein the eService will check the citizen’s vehicle against the respective insurance and emission company databases and, upon confirmation of the validity, allows users to apply for renewal.

Citizens can pay for the license using credit cards, and they can print the receipt confirming the payment. The Provincial Department of motor Traffic – WP, will post the citizens original revenue license to citizens home.
