ICT Training Need Analysis Tool Kit

This ‘Training Needs Analysis Tool kit’ has been designed to analyze ICT training needs of employees who are working in SL Government Organizations. Currently this kit consist of questionnaires to asses skills in operating systems, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, multimedia presentation, internet and Email. More questionnaires on other areas of computer applications and ICT technical capabilities will be added in due course. A specially designed table is also provided to analyze data gathered through questionnaires and to calculate training requirement as part of the tool kit.

ICT Foundation for Government Officers

This module is designed to cater for those with a limited knowledge of computers and the Internet. After completion of the course the applicants can achieve the knowledge and skills enabling them to become part of the worldwide e-community and have the confidence to participate as an “e-citizen”.

Training is delivered in four modules including an introduction to Unicode and its operations using Sinhala kit and tamil99. The trainees also create office templates and formats which are useful for regular office procedures participants are engaged in at their respective work places.

ICT Awareness for Government Officers

ICT Awareness training is anticipated to empower government officials to refresh their role in office and transform the service offerings delivered by themselves to the public. ICTA expects the ICT Awareness programme to improve quality of work, efficiency and self motivation whereby government employees would be positive participants in the forthcoming e government programmes. The final goal is for government agencies to be more people and results–oriented in the way they work.
