තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණ කර්මාන්තයට ICTA ආයතනයේ අතහිත

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සුළු හා මධ්‍ය පරිමාණ තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණ ව්‍යාපාර නගා සිටුවීමේ අරමූණින් ඔවුන් වෙත මුල්‍ය හා තාක්ෂණික ප්‍රදානයන් ලබා දීමේ ජාතික ව්‍යාපෘතියක් ආරම්භ කෙරේ.

ජනාධිපති ලේකම් කාර්යාලය යටතේ ක්‍රියාත්මක ශ්‍රී ලංකා තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණ නියෝජිතායතනය (ICTA) විසින් මේ සදහා පියවර ගෙන තිබේ.

මෙරට තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණ ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ නිරත සුළු හා මධ්‍ය පරිමාණ කර්මාන්තකරුවන් සවිබල ගැන්වීමත් නව පිරිස් මීට ප්‍රවේශ කර ගැනීමත් මෙහි මුලික අරමුණක් වේ.

මෙම වැඩසටහන යටතේ මුල්‍ය සහ තාක්ෂණික පහසුකම් ලබා දෙන අතර මෙරට තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණ ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ ප්‍රමුඛ පෙළේ ආයතන කිහිපයක් ඊට සිය දායකත්වය ලබා දෙයි.

මයික්‍රොසොෆ්ට් ශ්‍රී ලංකා සමාගම ඉන්ටෙල් සමාගම මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය හා කොළඹ විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය මේ අතර වේ.

තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණ ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ යෙදී සිටින ආයතන 20ක් සදහා මෙසේ තාක්ෂණික හා මුල්‍ය පහසුකම් ලබා දෙන බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණ නියෝජිතායතනය(ICTA) සදහන් කරයි.

මේ පිළිබදව දැනුවත් කිරීමේ මාධ්‍ය හමුවක් නොබෝදා කොළඹ දී පැවති අතර එහිදී අදහස් දැක්වු ශ්‍රී ලංකා තොරතුරු හා සන්නි‍වේදන තාක්ෂණ නියෝජිතායතනයේ (ICTA) නීති උපදේශක හා වැඩසටහන් අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජයන්ත ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා කියා සිටියේ ‘මහින්ද චින්තන ඉදිරි දැක්ම’ ප්‍රතිපත්ති ප්‍රකාශයේ සදහන් පරිදි මෙම කලාපයේ දැනුමේ කේන්ද්‍රස්ථානය බවට ශ්‍රී ලංකාව පත් කිරීමේ අභිලාශයන් යතාර්තයක් කර ගැනීම සදහා මෙවැනි ව්‍යාපෘතීන් රුකුලක් වන බවයි.

තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණ ව්‍යාපාරයේ නිරත සුළු හා මධ්‍ය පරිමාණ කර්මාන්ත කරුවන් නගා සිටුවීම වෙනුවෙන් තම නියෝජිතායතනයට දායක වීමට හැකි වීම ගැන සතුටු වන බවද ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

Explaining the term “Spiralation” a senior ICTA official said: “This initiative called Technology Startups ‘Spiralation’ launched in the presence of the programme’s partner ‘ecosystem’ aptly holds in its nomenclature the term ‘spiralation’ thus denoting the ‘spiral’ model concept that is specifically significant in this grant scheme. The ‘spiral’ model concept indicates an upward spiral model that grows with ‘Innovation’ and the term ‘Spiralation’ encompasses the spiral of innovation which is the true nature of the programme. The partner ‘ecosystem’ laid out by ICTA for the programme consists of more than 20 partner organisations including international technology providers, prestigious higher education institutions and industry organizations (both ICT and other). This will give high exposure to the selected applicants in various domains”.

The selected applicants will also be mentored through the programme’s impressive partner ecosystem in areas of expertise they should acquire in order to develop businesses into successful enterprises. This line up of partners includes the University of Moratuwa, the University of Colombo School of Computing, the Indian Institute of Technology’s Rural Technology Business Incubator, Boston University, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, the Sri Lanka Association of Software Service Companies (SLASSCOM), the Federation of IT Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS), British Computer Society (BCS), Project Management Institute (PMI), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK (CIMA), the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL), CCC Solutions Pvt. Ltd, the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), Standard Chartered Bank, National Development Bank (NDB), CIO Forum and the Knowledge Factory. Others too are expected to join and ICTA has extended invitations to organisations who can contribute to join hands.

Welcoming all present on behalf of the ICTA Mr. Jayantha Fernando, Director/Legal Advisor said “the ICT Agency as part of its role of catalysing the growth of the ICT Industry is pleased to announce the launch of this programme for technology startups. It will be the foundation towards creating a new culture of entrepreneurship within the Industry which will help accomplish the objectives of the e- Sri Lanka programme”.

The ICT Agency invites organisations who are interested and capable of enriching the programme further to contact ICTA for discussions on partnering. The applications for the programme will be available for download from the first week of August 2010 via http://www.icta.lk/icbp and aspiring applicants with an eye for innovation and inkling towards entrepreneurship are encouraged to apply.
