මෘදුකාංග තේරීමේ ජාතික තරගාවලියේ ප්රධාන අනුග්රහය (ICTA) ආයතනයෙන්
2010 අග්රගණයේ මෘදුකාංග තේරීමේ ජාතික තරගාවලිය සදහා ප්රධාන අනුග්රහකත්වය ලබා දීමට ශ්රී ලංකා තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණ නියෝජිතායතනය (ICTA) ඉදිරිපත් වේ.
බ්රිතාන්යය පරිගණක සංසදයේ ශ්රී ලංකා ශාඛාව මගින් මෙම තරගාවලිය සංවිධානය කරනු ලබන අතර මේ සදහා නියෝජිතායතනය සිය අනුග්රහයකත්වය ලබා දී ඇත්තේ දෙවැනි වරටය.
ඉ- රාජ්ය හා සේවා ,මාධ්ය හා විනෝදාංශ , අධ්යාපනය හා පුහුණුව, ආරක්ෂාව සහ මුල්යය ඇතුළු විෂයන් 17 ක් යටතේ මෙම තරගාවලිය පැවැත්වේ.
මෙම තරගාලිය පිලිබද දැනුවත් කිරීමේ මාධ්ය හමුවක් කොළඹදී පැවති අතර එහිදී අදහස් දැක්වු ශ්රී ලංකා තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණ නියෝජිතායතනයේ (ICTA) ප්රධාන මෙහෙයුම් නිලධාරී රෙෂාන් දේවපුර මහතා කියා සිටියේ මෙවැනි ජාතික මට්ටමේ තරගාවලියක් සදහා අනුග්රහයකත්වය ලබා දීමට හැකි වීම ගැන සතුටු වන බවත් එය ජාතික වගකීමක් ඉටු කිරීමක් සේ සිතන බවත්ය.
තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණය මෙරට ජන සමාජයට ඉතා වේගයෙන් සමීප වෙමින් පවතින අවධියක එහි ප්රතිලාභ වැඩි කිරීම සදහා නව මෘදුකාංග නිෂ්පාදනය අතිශයින් වැදගත් වන බවද දේවපුර මහතා මෙහිදී සදහන් කළේය.
මෙම තරගාවලියේ සම්මාන ප්රදානෝත්සවය ලබන ඔක්තෝම්බර් මාසයේ දී කොළඹදී පැවැත්වේ.

Explaining the plans of the event, NBQSA 2010 Organising Committee Chairman Vajeendra S Kandegamage also emphasised its uniqueness and underlined its content succinctly as follows recently: “ The12th National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) competition is planning to be held during the first week of October this year. It has been identified as the only outstanding ICT event in Sri Lanka which recognizes, benchmarks, evaluates innovative Sri Lankan ICT products. NBQSA is organized annually by BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT - Sri Lanka section”.
The objective of the e-Sri Lanka initiative is to bring about the ease to people by developing the economy of Sri Lanka by the use of ICT. This leads to the reduction of poverty and improvement of the quality of people’s lives. ICTA aims at carrying out its role in the ‘e-Sri Lanka’ development initiative by harnessing ICT as a lever for economic and social advancement and taking the dividends of ICT to every village, citizen and business and to re-engineer the way government thinks and works.
Currently the National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) competition is an annual event organised by the British Computer Society Sri Lanka (BCSSL) Section with the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) as the national partner.
The competition serves to showcase and benchmark Sri Lankan ICT products, which fulfills a much needed requirement of the software industry in this highly competitive globalist economic structure.
The objectives of NBQSA competition come within the scope of the e-Sri Lanka initiative.
The objectives of NBQSA are : (1) To provide recognition to outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations in Sri Lanka who/which have contributed to the development of ICT; (2) to create a window to gain international recognition for locally developed ICT products and (3) to improve standards and the quality of local ICT products and services to be able to compete in the international market place.
The NBQSA 2010, the 12th competition, is specifically significant in view of great strides that have been made in the ICT sector this year. This competition currently open to 17 categories of ICT products and projects ranging from applications and Infrastructure tools to in-house application has been held every year from the inception in 1998.
