ලෝක සමුළු සම්මාන 2009 (World Summit Awards 2009)

 Impaired Aid, ශ්‍රව්‍යාබාධිත හා දෘශ්‍යාබාධිතයන් -විශේෂයෙන් දරුවන් සඳහා නිර්මාණය කරන ලද දේශීය භාෂාවන් ගෙන්(සිංහල) භාවිතා කළ හැකි මෘදුකාංග කට්ටලයකි. නිර්මාණය කරන ලද්දේ ජිනසේන සමූහ ව්යා පාර, ලංකා ශ්‍රව්‍යාබාධිත හා දෘශ්‍යාබාධිතයන් සඳහා වූ පාසැලේ හා ICTA ඉ- සමාජ වැඩසටහනේ සාමුහික ප්‍රයත්නයක ප්‍රතිපලයක් ලෙසිනි. ඉ-අන්ත්‍ර්ග්‍රහණය හා සහභාගීත්වය යන අංශය යටතේ ඉහත සම්මානය සඳහා මෙම මෘදුකාංගය සම්මානයක් හිමි කර ගන්නා ලදී. විශ්ව සමුළු සම්මානය හෙවත් World Summit Awards යනු අන්තර්ජාතික වශයෙන් පිළිගත් - එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ප්‍රමිතීන්ට අනුකූලව සැකසූ නව ඉ-අන්තර්ගතයන්, නිර්මාණයන් හා තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන මෘදුකාංග / පරිගණක වැඩසටහන් සඳහා පිදෙන සම්මානයකි. මෙය පවත්වනු ලබන්නේ World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) මගිනි. 2009 වසරේ ඉහත සම්මානය සඳහා රටවල් 157 කින් අයදුම්පත් 560 අතරින් Impaired Aid ලද සම්මානය ඉ-සමාජ වැඩසටහනට මෙන්ම ශ්‍රී ලංකාවටම සුවිශේෂ ජයග්‍රහණයක් වේ.

තවත් එක් සාර්ථක අවස්ථාවක් වන්නේ ඉන්දියා  Manthan සම්මානයයි. දකුණු ආසියානු රටවල් අතරින් ‍හොඳම පරිගණක ආශ්රිනත නිර්මාණ තේරීමේ තරඟාවලිය සඳහා මාතෘකා 13 යටතේ ඉදිරිපත් වූ ව්යානපෘති 360 අතුරින් ඉ-සමාජ වැඩසටහනේ සහයෝගිතා සහන අරමුදල හා ප්රුජා සහන අරමුදල යටතේ සිදුකළ ව්යාරපෘති 04ක් සඳහා සම්මාන හිමිවිය.

virtual reality simulation of Jetavana Monastery

This project is a virtual reality simulation of the Jetavana Monastery complex, Anuradhapura using computer generated graphics, this would employ fixed animation which are gaining recognition around the world as valuable tools for experiencing and interpreting archaeological sites without the need for excessive and sometimes damaging excavation activity.

Provision of information to fishermen on  fishery sites, weather forecasts and disasters in local language through SMSs.

 Teaching without teachers

Partner: Induragara Swarnadeepa Foundation & Kadurupitiya e-Village

In rural areas, there is a lack of teachers in certain important subjects. This led to the requirement of an e-learning project, funded through an e-Society grant, where the foundation would set up a center for children to visit and use self learning interactive CDs to learn English and other subjects.

The center began with computer training and English learning and has now progressed to giving children math and science learning through locally developed e-learning software products as well as products from the Azim Premji Foundation in India.
