Professor Malik Ranasinghe
Chairman

Professor Malik Ranasinghe is a Senior Professor in Civil Engineering at the University of Moratuwa (UoM) He is a Chartered Engineer, International Professional Engineer, and Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka, Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, Sri Lanka, Fellow of the Institute of Project Managers, Sri Lanka and Graduate Member of Sri Lanka Institute of Directors.

Prof. Ranasinghe is the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa, former Fellow of the National University of Singapore, former Commission Member of the University Grants Commission, former Council Member of the National Research Council, and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).

Ms. Vishaka Nanayakkara
Board Director

Ms. Vishaka Nanayakkara is a Senior Lecturer and Director of the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL) at the University of Moratuwa. Prior to that, she was Head of the School of Information Technology & Electrical Engineering at the Northshore College of Business & Technology, Sri Lanka.  She was the Coordinator for introducing ICT for BA Degrees on behalf of the Ministry of Higher Education, Sri Lanka. She has over fifteen years of experience teaching undergraduate students in Computer, Electrical, and Electronic Engineering in various IT-related subjects. Furthermore, her research interests include Technology-based teaching, learning, assessment in higher education, e-Governance, and ICT4D.

Mr. Dilanthe Withanage
Board Director

Dilanthe Withanage, one of the founding members of the ICTA, pioneered many new initiatives, including e-society and e-journalists in 2003 -2005. After completing his Master’s degree in Computer Engineering in 1989 he obtained a postgraduate qualification in Education. He has worked on numerous projects aimed at promoting computer literacy and ICT education across Sri Lanka.

Mr. Samantha Upananda
Board Director

Mr. Samantha Upananda is a Public Financial Management Professional with over 30 years of professional experience in the Public Sector. He joined the Government Service in 1992, and has worked in various Government organizations including the General Treasury, Presidential Secretariat, and Parliament of Sri Lanka. He assumed duties as the Director General of the Department of State Accounts, General Treasury on 1st January 2021. In addition, he is also the Project Director of Integrated Treasury Management Information System (ITMIS).

Dr. Isuru Dasanayake
Board Director

Dr. Isuru Dasanayake was appointed to the board of directors of the ICTA in 2022. He has over 15 years of experience in academia and industry both in Sri Lanka and the USA. He is a Senior Lecturer attached to the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya. Before that, he worked at Sri Lanka Telecom, the University of California Santa Barbara USA, and Intel Corporation USA. He holds a BSc.Eng degree from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and MSc & PhD degrees from Washington University in St.Louis, USA.

Mr. Dumindu Dissanayake
Board Director

Dumindu Dissanayake is a graduate from the University of Gloucestershire (UK) in Cybersecurity (Honors). He is an IT professional with over 6yrs experience in the field with exposure to Advance IT, Digital Entrepreneurship and IT strategy development. He is presently a Consultant for multiple Sri Lankan startups as well as multinational technology companies.

Eng. Nalin Karunasinghe
Board Director

Eng. Nalin Karunasinghe, a National and international award-winning Inventor, and a Presidential award winner, is the Founder and Managing Director of E-net solutions, an innovative research-based company. He was in the pioneering team that brought the internet to Sri Lanka, and has designed the first email to Fax, Fax to Fax, email to pager, VoIP systems and the first plug-in hybrid three-wheeler in Sri Lanka.

Ms. K.A. Sithira Swarnapali Waidyasekara
Board Director

Ms. K.A. Sithira Swarnapali Waidyasekara is an accomplished Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public with over 15 years of experience in the legal industry. She obtained her L.L.B. from the University of Colombo Faculty of Law in 2004, was enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law of Sri Lanka Law College in 2005, and enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2006. She currently practices Civil and Criminal Law.

Dr. P.C.P. De Silva
Board Director

Dr. P.C.P. De Silva is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Town & Country Planning at the University of Moratuwa. He obtained his PhD in transportation engineering from the University of Moratuwa, after starting his PhD career at the University of South Australia. Dr. De Silva teaches transportation engineering, transportation planning, and urban planning and is responsible for handling most transportation modules in both BSc and MSc programs at the department. He has also served as a visiting lecturer at several government and private universities, including the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and the National Institute of Plantation Management.
