Aligning with the IT industry’s mission of building 1000 Startups by 2020 and to make a future ready workforce, Industry Development Team at ICTA had a series of discussions with University Grants Commission (UGC), university academics and industry experts on how to instill entrepreneurship inside universities. ‘Imagine IF’ Entrepreneurship Boot Camp was implemented as a result of these continuous discussions. It is a series of three-day entrepreneurship camp which aims at building entrepreneurial mindset among the undergraduates by guiding them to work on converting their ideas into a successful business.
‘Imagine IF’ 1st programme was held at University of Sri Jayawardenepura (UoSJ) on 14th July with the participation of more than 150 undergraduates from National Universities and Higher Education Institutes around the area. From this 150+ participants, more than 80% have conveyed their intention of starting a business. First day of the programme had a comprehensive session covering the fundamentals of entrepreneurship such as the traits of an entrepreneur, ideation, idea validation, prototyping and marketing while inspiring them with success stories.
Consisting of a 3-day boot camp, ImagineIF aimed to answer one question: “Imagine IF?”
