The vast penetration of e based channels used for many day-today transactions is one of the main reasons behind the rise up the need of IT Security. The reliability of the data being captured and the confidential data being revealed in most commonly used web based applications created a major need of keeping the transaction data being threat free.
With the government’s vision of ‘DIGITIZING’ & creating a ‘DIGITAL ECONOMY’ embarked on 12,000 IT security professionals being created by 2020. The vision itself generates a mission which needs ICTA’s intervention with in the segment of IT security.
Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA) SL chapter was the first to come on board in making the vision in to an actionable plan along with ICTA. ISACA SL Chapter being the training resource provider and ICTA being the organizer and facilitator, a plan for a sequence of IT security related training programmes laid throughout the year covering varied segments of IT security, namely Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Cyber Security Nexus (CSX) Fundamentals.
The programmes started with CISA which hybrids the auditors and IT. A 3-day concise workshop successfully completed with a participation of 48 individuals collated from the IT industry. The training was an examination preparatory course and more than 70% showed their interest in completing the certification with in the year.
CISM was the second in line and the programme hits above the head count which ICTA wanted to reach. With the intension of getting more individual benifitted at the first go, the 3-day workshop launched and completed with a greater satisfaction rate of 50 individuals. The enthusiasm showed towards taking up the certification was at a higher level.
The last of the pilot programmes of the segment is to conclude with the latest trending IT security certification – CSX Foundation which is yet to be implemented shortly.
