Program Manager – ICT HR Capacity Building
Sameera Jayawardena is a PMP certified professional and hold his MSc in Management from University of Sri Jayawardenapura and Bachelors Degree with Honours in Computing and Information Systems from London Metropolitan University, UK.
Prior to joining ICTA, Sameera worked for various initiatives on ICT4D and Human Resources Capacity building with different private sector and government organizations. Equipped with experience and specialized in ICT4D Capacity building and eGovernment domains; Sameera has also served in many committees and as a visiting lecturer at reputed institutions including state universities. Sameera has been working in the ICT education and eGovernment fields for past eleven years. He has involved in formulation of national development initiatives on ICT4D including HR Capacity building, eGovernment and managed many development initiatives for GoSL at different scale since 2007.
Sameera was given the responsibility of managing the implementation of eGovernment policy (2011 -2014) . He also managed the review process of the formulation of new eGovernment policy and served in the eGovernment policy review committee (2012) and the Strategy formulation initiatives. He has served as a consultant for many government organizations in formulation their eGovernment plans and implementation of various ICT4D initiatives.
He served as an executive council member of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (www.cssl.lk) which is the premiere ICT professionals association in Sri Lanka in 2012/13.
