ICTA support towards Seedstars Colombo

Seedstars Colombo is the Sri Lankan round of Seedstars World. Seedstars World is a global startup competition for fast-growing start-up scene.
ICTA supported the event as the National Partner.
The event took place on the 30th of June 2016 at Trace City Expert Colombo and was attended by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. Eight start-ups were selected and invited to present their ideas in front of the local jury panel. The competitors included PayMedia, Foodie Global, Touristeun, Hype Hash, NicNac, Katha, LayUp and PreviewVR. In addition to startups pitching there were stimulating discussions, networking sessions.
LayUp was selected as the winner and they will represent SriLankaat the Seedstars Summit in Switzerlandto compete for up to $ 1 million in equity investment. LayUp is a learning driven social platform which discovers new techniques to train, involve and reward employees. They will join the global Seedstars Family and take part in the regional and global Seedstars Summits. NicNac and Katha came as second and third.
The event attracted interest from over 140 startups and 250 attendees.
